1 Corinthians 9:24-26 says “And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown” (NKJV).

To be temperate is to “show moderation or self-restraint” (Google definition), and, according to the verse above, I am to be temperate in “all things,” including food, drink, television, social media, and more. I personally struggle in this area with regards to food and television, so I wanted to start a blog in the hopes of granting myself accountability in these areas. My chosen verse is also a good reminder not to get too caught up in the here-and-now, but to keep an eternal perspective and to remember what this life is all about (hint: NOT me).
